The clinics' axis aims to provide reliable tools to improve BDs (Brain Diseases) diagnosis and search for new avenues for more effective and personalized therapies.
Three research themes will be developed:
Refining the diagnosis of brain diseases (BD)
- Structuration of a comprehensive multimodal BDs evaluation, including clinical, neuroimaging, electrophysiological, and biological data. The most homogeneous patient datasets will be collected to allow cross-pathology analyses.
- Development of an original approach based on a strong expertise on intracranial EEG (electroencephalogram), combining multiscale electrophysiological recordings in intracranially implanted patients to identify new pathophysiological biosignatures of BDs and assess the functional integrity of the targeted brain networks.
Management of BDs-related disability
- Development of an Information Center dedicated to co-productive exchanges between patients-partners, clinicians and advanced practice nurses regarding BDs, from diagnosis to treatment.
- Design and validate a promising BMI approach to control body posture after stroke for improving gait recovery.
Developing innovative brain therapies
- Clinical evaluation of a new implantable device designed to deliver Near InfraRed illumination to boost ATP (adenosine triphosphate) production in nigral cells and reduce tissue inflammation in de novo PD (Parkinson) patients.
- Development and validation of a therapeutic algorithm in the management of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), including intraparenchymal measurement of brain tissue oxygen pressure (PbtO2) as a proxy of secondary injury.
- Clinical assessment of cell therapy in stroke, in particular using intravenous allogenic adipose-derived stem cells in the early phase of stroke to enhance brain repair processes.
